Unsolicited Emailing "SPAM"
-
Rangenet will investigate complaints regarding
email and may, in its sole discretion, take action based on the rules
below. If an email message is found to violate one of the policies below,
or to contain unlawful material, as described in other sections of this
policy, Rangenet may take action as outlined.
-
Rangenet account-holders may not send email to any user who does not
wish to receive it, either at Rangenet or elsewhere. Rangenet recognizes
that email is an informal medium; however, account-holders must refrain
from sending further email to a user after receiving a request to stop.
-
Unsolicited advertising mailings, whether commercial or informational,
are strictly prohibited. Rangenet account-holders may send advertising
material only to addresses which have specifically requested it. Rangenet
will not forward mail of accounts terminated for bulk mailing or unsolicited
advertising.
-
Chain letters are unsolicited by definition and may not be propagated
using Rangenet's services.
-
Rangenet account-holders may not send, propagate, or reply to mail-bombs.
Mail-bombing is defined as either emailing copies of a single message
to many account-holders, or sending large or multiple files or messages
to a single user with malicious intent.
-
Rangenet account-holders may not alter the headers of email messages
to conceal their email address or to prevent account-holders from responding
to messages.
-
Rangenet users may not use programs or services to try to hide, mask,
redirect, or in any way cause their email identity to be anonymous.
-
Violations of the Rangenet policies outlined in this document can sometimes
result in massive numbers of email responses. If a Rangenet account-holder
receives so much email that Rangenet resources are affected, Rangenet
staff may shut down the account-holders mailbox.
-
Any customer (Personal or Commercial) violating Rangenet anti-spam policy
will be billed a minimum of $100.00 per hour, minimum 1 hour, for

-
Every user MUST read the messages regularly posted to the
group news.announce.new-users, BEFORE posting any articles to any particular

defined as sending unsolicited messages or files to multiple locations
or users. These activities are in violation of Rangenet anti-spam
policy. Any customer (Personal or Commercial) found to be in violation
of this policy will be billed at the rate of up to, but not limited to
